Johansen Benedict Aguilar - UAAP 74th Season Athlete of the Year

Johansen Benedict Aguilar
De La Salle University Green Tankers' (DLSU Men's Swimming Team) Johansen Benedict Aguilar was hailed Athlete of the year with 2 others of the UAAP Season 74. Winning seven gold medals in the swimming competitions, he aced all athletes. He also broke the Philippine record in the men’s 50 meters backstroke (with 27.52 seconds) and two UAAP records -100m and 200m backstroke - last September. And then broke that record again shortly after, swimming with 27.29 seconds in the 26th Southeast Asian Games last November. Not only did he nail swimming competitions, he also topped his classes- what with being a consistent dean's lister in Applied Economics. He surely is one heck of a guy- athletic, handsome and smart.

The story behind:

Crizia badly wanted to see Sponge Cola perform. Seeing facebook's notification of Sponge Cola to perform at the Closing Ceremony of UAAP Season 74, she was set to attend the said event at PICC today. But then attending our class, she was confused whether to go there or not. Upon hearing her qualms, I pried deeper. And then she told me that the Streetdance Competition will proceed right after. While she's rooting for Sponge Cola, I was after the Streetdance Competition. And then we ditched our class. :)) Ok, while I really enjoyed watching all Univ crews strutting their stuffs, I was not pleased with the result. But then, everyone deserved it. So anyway, while waiting for everything to just end and let the Sponge Cola take the stage, there went the Awarding of the Athletes of the Year and the Overall Champion. And yeah, the host's turnover of the UAAP. With all these going about, Crizia had her eyes on this Johansen. And I was not paying attention with anything onstage. Btw, we watched the Streetdance up front the spectators' area, on the left side of the judges but we went down seats right after. While I have an almost perfect vision, I wasn't able to see well this particular Athlete of the year at far. Shame on me (normal vision, huh?)! It turned out that up close, he really is cute. :x  Ok, wearing glasses does have its advantage. Silly, you won me over there Crizia! =D> And that's how our dear young lad (now, I feel so ancient) ended up as my entry here.

Jinggoy Valmayor in UAAP 73rd season Football Champions: UP Men's Football Team

Jinggoy Valmayor
Last February 27, 2011, my friends and I watched as the UP Men's Football Team grabbed the 73rd season UAAP Football Championship. Here, Machay and I took a picture with Jinggoy Valmayor - a handsome typical mestizo who won as the year's Best Striker, Best Rookie of the Year and probably, Golden Boot. He almost photocopied what he had achieved during high school at La Salle Greenhills if it were not for getting the MVP title then.

Jinggoy Valmayor This is a fail picture of me with Jinggoy Valmayor (really not meant to be, his picture should be shared with a friend >.< or rather Mars 'the photographer' is the failure. Again, peace yow mah friend! :P).

Stephen Permanes has become this season's MVP.

Here's me and my friend's picture with the amazing Coach Anto. *applause everyone!* Good coaching there Coach! =D>

Deo Segunial won as Best Defender. He's hard to reach (if you know what I mean) just as how hard it is to reach his height. Hence, no picture for him. [-(

Now, here's a picture with last year's controversial (need I say?) player, Nii Ayi.

And since I find Jacob Ochoa to be hot despite the bulge in his midriff :D, I took a picture with him for his deep-set eyes (my penchant). I don't think he's part of the victory *evil*. He didn't play. He's a second stringer by the way. Correction! He played on the other games that led to the finals. Okay, self-talking...

Just as we thought that we were able to get a picture of Allen Serna, we only managed to catch his back...

Oh wait, there he is(!!!) with I-dunno-who <-- Sorry, but you're just that ain't popular.

2 words: THE CHAMPIONS! *applause* (while jumping) <):)

Nico Ibaviosa & his (probably) most awkward "date" | Java Night 2010 - Ilang-ilang Residence Hall

Nico Ibaviosa

Using Pat's not-so-good-camera (peace yow! :P), I took Nico Ibaviosa's picture myself.

In the heat of Campus Political Campaigns for the University Student Council, words spread about a celebrity running for councilor. My roommates introduced to me (by word of mouth) this guy who campaigned in their Accounting class. As days went by, I had heard speculations from many students that the said celeb will just be using his 'cuteness' to gain votes, that he will just be 'another pretty face' in the throne of the USC. I got curious. I remembered Kuya Atom Aurullo's case. He was judged badly before he could take real action. Meanwhile, in the dormitory, my friend (the Socials Committee Head) agreed upon my suggestion of a Bidding Date for Java Night <):). Of course, it pushed through and Nico Ibaviosa was the main attraction (part of his political campaign I guess). That time, I had just received my last salary in my part-time tutorial job. So on the night of the event, a crazy spirit took over my body and bid. I won >:).

I put a copyright mark here although I'm not the one who took the picture (and also the rest).

"Ah, mga otaku nga pala kami at wala kaming ibang gagawin ngayong gabi kundi ang i-harrass ka," crazy but that was my introduction to him. I did that so that, right from the start, he'll know how crazy the ones he'll be dealing with in the table are. JOKE! But really, I don't want to beat around the bush. By his own assessment, he should know what to expect. And I don't care however he'd look at us.

Unlike the usual date, what transpired that night wasn't a date at all. It was rather a brief interview. My friends and I were organizers of that event and most of our time that night was being eaten up with our committee jobs. Everything went fine, it was okay. And the reason why the organizers themselves can join in the event? I made the rules! :))

Nico Ibaviosa
By the end of the 'date', I found out that Nico Ibaviosa is a nice guy and a trustworthy would-be politician. In a short period of time, I saw how his esteem plummeted and plunged up at the same time. It was like this, my friend on the table kept on bugging me about my hidden motive. And honestly, I don't exactly know what my motive was. Everything was a spur of the moment.

Nico Ibaviosa

After saying my piece of a dug-up motive, Nico uttered, "So, you just want to prove something to yourself." And I saw how the flare of his aura reduced. I know he felt offended. But something suddenly hit me and I said, "Hindi ko naman talaga nais mag-bid. Hindi ko lang akalaing may darating na isang katulad mo." 8-} Obviously, I had my way too much reading romantic pocketbooks. :)) Nico was taken by surprise. Imagine just where my impulsiveness leads me most of the time.
