Shakira gives away a guitar to Brazil's president
The president of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff, received on Thursday, in the Planalto Palace in Brasilia, the Colombian singer Shakira, who is in Brazil for a series of concerts.
At the meeting, the singer gave him a guitar autographed Rousseff to be auctioned by the Program for the Eradication of Extreme Poverty.
In a press conference after the hearing, Shakira said the meeting focused on policies for poor children in Latin America, an issue championed by ALAS, a foundation of Latin American artists which represents the singer, and expressed interest to establish a partnership for children zero to six years.
Shakira stressed the importance of investing in early childhood education and early intervention and highlighted the role of Brazil in the continent and the world.
Since the beginning of his career Shakira has not only dedicated to giving concerts, hips moving and changing colors of her hair. Since the beginning of her career, Barranquilla, has been concerned for the welfare of children in conditions of neglect, malnutrition and the care and protection of children.
