because of a knee injury, but expects to be fit in time to defend her French Open title.
The seventh-ranked Serb is struggling with inflammation in her right knee. Doctors have ordered her not to play for a week.
Ivanovic said in a statement Friday that the knee has bothered her since a Fed Cup match last month. She said, “It’s become more painful with each match, so I decided to go and see a specialist in Munich.”
Ivanovic says there is “no danger” of her missing the French Open, which begins May 24.
... lost to the unspeakable Sharapova in the Australian Open final, going down 7-5 6-3.
Yet another of my predictions bites the dust.
But she remains ravishing.
But, of course.
The stunning Serbian is one of the most beautiful tennis players in the game. Ana is a former World #1and currently she is the World #3 on the WTA Tour.
Ana Ivanovic hot
- Ana Ivanovic will not play tennis… and no one will be better for that. How pissed are you if you flew all the way to Australia to see this hot Serbian babe play tennis and then she gets ousted early? I wouldn’t be happy either. Let’s be honest, the only reason Ana is being mentioned (let alone tennis for that matter) here is because she is smoking hot. Take a look at the picture of the sexy Serb and then keep reading.
- China will issue some crazy edict against its people. Remember when Yao used to blow the rest of the NBAers out of the water in all-star voting? It was never even close. Now, Dwight Howard is the leading vote getting receiving all-star of all time and Yao finished 6th on the ballot. This won’t go over well in the communist nation. And, hey, Yi Jianlian didn’t even get voted in!! There will be hell to pay, Chinese people!
- The And1 tour will be broadcast on national television. Yes, Memphis is playing at Tennessee on CBS! Ooooh snap! See what I did there? They are both streetball teams, get it? More seriously, there will be a lot of athletes on the court for this one. More importantly though, is the matchup of Big Brian Williams and Pierre Henderson-Niles. There will be about 600 lbs. of man throwing itself around when those two get together. Memphis tries to play the revenge factor, but they just aren’t very good. Vols win another close one, 81-76.
Ana Ivanovic is probably still off-kilter from the injury she sustained at the Qatar Total Open a few weeks ago. She had to pull out of that tourney and lost the subsequent week in the semis of the Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships to eventual champion Dementieva.
On a bright note, she has debuted a new spring version of her cute adidas Edge dress. It was about time! She has been wearing a blue version of the outfit since the Year-End Championships; meanwhile the other glam girls have had multiple costume changes since then.
By the way, the official name of this coral pink color is Neo Red. Look for the items to drop in the next few weeks (coinciding with the North American spring hardcourt season).
Aside from her tennis career, Ivanović also studies finance at a university in Belgrade, and Spanish in her spare time, and apparently is said to have a crush on men's tennis superstar, Roger Federer. Gentlemen should also be please to note that, despite some rumours about her love life and connections to men's tennis players, it appears Ana Ivanovic is indeed a single lady.
You can catch Ana Ivanovic in full action right now as she plays for US Open glory!
At 14 she got her big break when a Swiss businessman, seeing her potential, agreed to $500,000 in an interest-free loan to finance her development. That ended up being a great investment, Ana Ivanovic is now a multi-millionaire.
She choose to idolise former tennis sensation, compatriot Monika Seles at the age of 5, after seeing her play on television and like a good Gen Yer nagged her parents to take her to tennis school after seeing a children's tennis advertisement.
Born in Belgrade, Serbia (then part of Yugoslavia), Ana Ivanovic is the World Number 1 on the WTA tour, both figuratively and arguably in the hottness rankings as well.
